
The 8th Nigeria’s Construction Industry Hall of Fame 2025, induction ceremony took place at the Colossus Lagos, with Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, FNSE, FAEng, the immediate past President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), in attendance as chairman of the induction ceremony; Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, Ph.D special adviser to the Lagos state governor on agriculture.
Other notable dignitaries and stakeholders in the construction and engineering industry present includes Engr. Babatunde James, Chairman NSE Victoria Island branch who ably represented the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret A. Oguntala, FNSE; Arc. Abimbola Ogunbiyi, FNIA, represented Arc. Mobolaji Adeniyi, FNIA, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) respectively as special guest of honour.
This year’s edition is unique in the sense that it is the eighth edition and eight outstanding built environment professionals were inducted, which includes Engr. Olatunde Runsewe, FNSE, Chairman Dutum Group Ltd; Bldr. Chief John Chukwudi Arachie FNIOB; Tpl. Mrs. Risikat B. Bello, FNITP; Arc. Fitzgerald Umah, FNIA, RIBA; Engr. Raji Naheem, FNSE, FNICE; Prof. Harriet Chimezie, Ph.D; and Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, FNIA, Permanent Secretary, Office of Urban Development Lagos State.
Other inductees are agencies of government that are promoting and monitoring infrastructure development in Lagos state, ensuring proper adherence to the lay down development laws such as Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), with the top directors of the agency in attendance on behalf of the General Manager Mr. Elegushi was inducted along with other built environment professionals.
The theme of this year’s edition professionals discussion before the induction ceremony proper was centered on the topic: “The Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) Industry And the Technologies to Improve Efficiency, Sustainability & Overall Project Outcomes.” It was delivered by the Director General/CE Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) MEDIA GROUP, Hon. Kenneth Odusola-Steveson and stakeholders in the built environment present at the induction ceremony had a robust and thought provoking conversation for the overall improvement of the construction industry in Nigeria.
