As Delta Air Lines marks its centennial year, the airline says it is elevating its in-flight experience through a partnership with a Champagne house, Maison Taittinger.
The collaboration combines Delta’s commitment to world-class service with Taittinger’s legacy and craftsmanship, setting a new standard for premium hospitality in the skies.
This was made known through a statement by the airline on Tuesday.
Senior Vice President of Inflight Service at Delta, Kristen Taylor, said, “Not all Champagne is created equal. Taittinger represents a quiet, sophisticated elegance that will ‘wow’ our Delta One customers. Their reputation for excellence mirrors our own, and we’re thrilled to partner with them to enhance the travel experience.”
The Taittinger Brut la Française will be featured as part of the airline’s premium beverage offerings.
“With its subtle pale gold colour, fine persistent bubbles, and aromatic notes of peach, white flowers, vanilla, and brioche, this Champagne promises a refined taste at 35,000 feet,” he added.
The family-owned Champagne house is known for exceeding ageing requirements and embracing sustainable practices.
President of Champagne Taittinger, Vitalie Taittinger, said, “At Taittinger, we take great pride in sharing our Champagne with those who appreciate craftsmanship and elegance.
“This partnership with Delta offers a wonderful opportunity to bring our heritage to travellers worldwide.”
The airline further explained that the Champagne will be available to Delta One passengers as a pre-meal beverage on international flights and will also be served throughout the journey. “To further complement the experience, Delta’s expert sommeliers suggest pairing the Taittinger Brut la Française with select meal options, as its exceptional aromatic profile pairs perfectly with high-altitude dining,” it stated.
In addition to the Champagne partnership, Delta is expanding its Sky Sommelier programme, training flight attendants on transoceanic flights to enhance the airline’s signature in-flight hospitality.
“We invest in training so that our teams can continue to deliver the world-class service Delta is known for,” the statement stated.
