The nomination by the FIDIC board to appoint Białachowski as president-elect was agreed overwhelmingly by FIDIC’s membership at the 2026 FIDIC general assembly meeting which took place on 13 September 2026 in New Delhi, India, on the eve of the federation’s flagship Global Infrastructure conference.
As CEO of B-Act in Poland, Adam Białachowski heads up an engineering consultancy group that focuses its work in central and eastern Europe, with main offices in Bydgoszcz, Warsaw and Kiev. Białachowski, who joined the FIDIC board in 2023, is an expert in business management, project and contract management, construction contract cash flow optimisation, procurement, claims strategy and client relationship management. He has over 15 years of experience in advising on and implementing construction investments and successfully conducted multiple commercial negotiations with international investors, construction companies and engineering corporations.
Białachowski is a graduate of Harvard University (Master of Management) and Leon Kozminski Academy (Finance and Accounting), and Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia (Bachelor of Business Administration). He is the current treasurer of FIDIC and will take over the presidency from incumbent Alfredo Ingletti at the 2027 FIDIC general assembly meeting due to take place in October next year.
Speaking after his announcement as FIDIC president elect, Białachowski said: “I am honoured and humbled that the FIDIC board and member associations have placed their confidence in me to make me their president-elect. My path to this point has seen me take on many FIDIC roles and I will do all that I can to support our current president Alfredo Ingletti, our CEO Susanna Zammataro, the board and our global membership as we implement our new strategic plan in the months and years ahead.
“My approach to this role will be simple. I plan to listen and to work together with all of our members towards our common purpose of representing our industry the best way that we can. I am also proud to be the first person from Poland to take on such an influential role in the leadership of FIDIC and I want to thank all those who I have worked with and who have supported me in my company B-Act. I will do my best to live up to that support and to represent the consulting engineering industry well on the global stage.”
Commenting on the announcement, FIDIC chief executive officer Susanna Zammataro said: “I’m delighted to welcome Adam Białachowski as FIDIC’s new president-elect. Adam has played a crucial role in the leadership of FIDIC during his time on the board and I am sure that he will make an excellent president when he assumes the role in October 2027. I look forward to working closely with him and current president Alfredo Ingletti as FIDIC moves forward with the implementation of its current Strategic Plan”.
Beyond his work on the infrastructure industry, Białachowski also co-owns Winnica Pod Jabłonią, a boutique vineyard near Bydgoszcz. Their wines have received international awards, including gold at the PIWI Wine Award International 2024. He is also passionate about high-performance fitness and CrossFit and is a firm believer in continuous growth – physically, professionally, and personally.
