A real estate development firm, Pumpkin Property, has introduced a housing initiative that integrates high-speed satellite internet into some of its residential estates in Kaduna and Abuja.
The chief executive officer of Pumpkin Holdings Limited, Mr Oladeji Bamidele, said the initiative was aimed at improving digital connectivity within modern residential communities.
Bamidele explained that under the initiative, homebuyers in selected Pumpkin Property estates would receive Starlink hardware, professional installation and three months of complimentary high-speed internet subscription after purchasing a home.
He said the offer would initially apply to Prime Living Estate and Prime View Estate located within Millennium City in Kaduna State, as well as Pumpkin Homes in Karsana area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to him, the company focuses on developing planned residential communities supported by basic infrastructure such as road networks, drainage systems, street lighting and other utilities.
Bamidele further said the company had entered into a collaboration agreement with Konga Online Nigeria Limited for the supply, installation and technical support of Starlink hardware and related connectivity products across its housing projects.
He added that Pumpkin Property had also partnered with TD Africa, an authorised distributor of Starlink solutions in Africa, to facilitate access to Starlink kits and related accessories for deployment within its estates.
Bamidele further explained that Starlink, a satellite internet constellation developed by SpaceX, delivers high-speed broadband connectivity through a network of low-Earth orbit satellites designed to expand internet access to areas where fibre or terrestrial infrastructure is limited.
He noted that integrating satellite connectivity into housing developments would enable residents to enjoy reliable internet services from the moment they move into their homes.
Bamidele added that prospective homeowners and investors interested in the estates in Kaduna and Abuja could contact the company for further information on available housing units.
