The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at the ongoing Sustainable Emerging Technologies Institute (SETI) in Bayero University, Kano.
Speaking during his site inspection visit, the NASENI chief executive said the pace and standard of execution reflect strong commitment and alignment with the Agency’s broader vision to build world-class innovation and technology infrastructure across Nigeria.
“I am encouraged by the quality and pace of work on ground,” he said while addressing the project team.
Halilu emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving innovation, noting that NASENI is intentionally partnering with universities and key stakeholders to deliver transformative, high-impact projects.
“No one has a monopoly on innovation. Government, academia, and the private sector must work together to chart a clear path forward,” he added.
The EVC explained that the vision behind SETI — a hub focused on sustainable and emerging technologies — is steadily becoming a reality, positioning Nigeria to strengthen research capacity, innovation, and youth-driven technological advancement.
“What we envisioned with SETI is steadily and deliberately taking shape. I look forward to the impact and results this institute will deliver,” Halilu stated.
The Sustainable Emerging Technologies Institute (SETI) forms part of NASENI’s broader strategy to deepen Nigeria’s science, technology, and industrial ecosystem through strategic infrastructure, partnerships, and talent development.
