
Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the elevation of its Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, to the role of Corporate Affairs Director for Heineken’s Africa and Middle East region, effective May 15, 2025.
The announcement was made via a recent statement issued by Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc..
Morgan succeeds David Paterson in this regional leadership role, becoming the first national from the AME region to attain such a position within Heineken’s global Corporate Affairs structure.
In her new capacity, Morgan will join both the Heineken Global Corporate Affairs Leadership Team and the Heineken AME Management Team, overseeing corporate reputation, public policy, and sustainability strategy across the region.
Since joining Nigerian Breweries in 2018, Morgan has led critical regulatory and fiscal engagements, effectively navigating complex policy environments.
She played a key role in mitigating excise tax hikes and securing more viable frameworks for Nigeria’s beverage sector. She also successfully managed stakeholder communications during the temporary suspension of some brewery operations in Nigeria.
Her leadership has extended to advancing Heineken’s sustainability agenda, Brew a Better World, and strengthening the company’s position on responsible business practices in Nigeria.
Morgan was recently named the 2025 Outstanding Corporate Spokesperson of the Year and Corporate Communications Professional of the Year in 2024.
She brings over 27 years of experience across law, fast-moving consumer goods, tobacco, and beverages.
As a trained lawyer, Morgan began her career in 1993 and has held senior legal, corporate affairs, and regulatory roles at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company and British American Tobacco. Her international experience includes assignments across the UAE, UK, and West Africa.
She is an alumna of INSEAD and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Institute of Directors.
Morgan also served as the founding Chairperson of Nigeria’s Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance.
Her proven expertise in managing risk, regulatory advocacy, and building high-performing teams positions her to lead Heineken’s Corporate Affairs agenda across one of its most diverse and dynamic regions.
