The International Real Estate Federation, Nigeria chapter, is set to hold her 75th World Congress from June 9 to 13 this year.
They disclosed this during a press briefing recently held at the Metropolitan Club in Lagos State.
The FIABCI Africa & Near East President, Adele Adeniji, said, “It is a great privilege to be here today as we unveil an important milestone in real estate and urban development, one that extends beyond Africa, reaching global significance. We are gathered here to present the upcoming FIABCI World Congress, set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria. This prestigious event marks a significant moment, as Africa continues to establish itself as a leading force in the global real estate landscape. The 75th edition of this congress has been awarded to Nigeria, not by chance, but as recognition of the continent’s growing influence in shaping the future of real estate, infrastructure, and urban innovation.
“Lagos was chosen as the host city because of its strategic importance as Nigeria’s economic hub and a beacon of excellence in urban development. From the middle to the end of June, Lagos will welcome industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and professionals from across the globe for an insightful and transformative gathering.
This congress will showcase the remarkable progress Africa has made in real estate, sustainability, and technological innovation. It will bring together key stakeholders, including developers, architects, urban planners, financial institutions, and government agencies, to explore new frontiers in real estate investment, infrastructure financing, and sustainable development.
According to Adele, FIABCI is a globally recognised federation representing a network of professionals in the built environment.
He added, “It includes a diverse range of specialists—architects, property developers, appraisers, real estate brokers, and financial experts. The congress will provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and the fostering of international collaborations. Furthermore, we are honoured to have distinguished keynote speakers from across the world, including Kevin Brown, President of the U.S. FIABCI Chapter, and other renowned industry leaders who will share insights into global real estate trends and best practices. On the government side, we are delighted to welcome Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture in Lagos State, along with other top officials and industry pioneers.

Meanwhile, the Group Managing Director, SOLID GROUPS, Adetoun Otepola, disclosed that this was the first time in 75 years that FIABCi is coming to Africa, which happens to be Nigeria.
She said, “What this means is that most members of FIABCi that have never been to Africa before are going to come to Nigeria for the first time. Also, we are opening the doors of real estate opportunities to the world. Hence, what oil is to Nigeria is what land is to Lagos State, and the opportunities are enormous. The impact of this congress is going to be beyond measure.”
Speaking on the investment impact the congress would have on the country, a member of FIABCi, Rogba Orimolade, said the congress would not only change narratives but also broaden our understanding of the programme.
He added, “The entire event will take place at a single venue, where we will also have an additional visit. It will be held in one location, specifically in the banquet hall of a prestigious hotel in Lagos. Africa has indeed made significant strides, and this event will highlight its progress beyond what is traditionally expected. We are moving beyond local perspectives and matching global standards, comparable to those in the U.S. and other leading economies.
“Now, regarding the impact of this initiative, if we consider the individuals coming in, whether immigrants or citizens within these groups, the significance cannot be overstated. We are seeing major private equity investments flowing into these sectors, much like what we have witnessed in other key areas. This is why direct investment is essential. We are expecting between 200 and 300 attendees, and I must evaluate the economic impact of their participation. This goes beyond professional collaborations; it is about the opportunities Nigeria presents on a larger scale.
“Additionally, we have received confirmation of a strong delegation from Saudi Arabia; seventeen representatives have confirmed their attendance. Uganda is also participating, with a notable delegate joining us. Networking opportunities will be a major highlight, and media presence will ensure that the world takes notice. This is not just an ordinary event; it is a platform for meaningful engagement. I emphasise again, the inflow of foreign direct investment into this space will be significant. Attendees are not coming just for leisure; they are coming to conduct business.”
