28TH CED FORUM AWARD; Notable Professionals Honoured at the Award Ceremony

Construction & Engineering Digest (CED) magazine recognized notable corporate bodies in the built environment and key industry professionals that have indeed contributed to nation building at its 28th Forum Award event held in Lagos. With a host of built environment professionals gracing the occasion, CED Magazine did bring to the audience the essence of the event’s theme; “Emerging Opportunities in Engineering, Architectural & Allied Professionals Amid Technological Advancement- Artificial Intelligence (AI).”

The Managing editor of CED Magazine, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson gave a deep insight on the birth of the forum since 1993, which according to him have not ceased to deliver standard and he did commended the efforts of Dangote group, acknowledging the engineering prowess of one of the awardees Mr. Devakumar V.G. Edwin Vice-President Dangote Industries Plc which according to Mr. Odusola; earned him the recognition. In the same vein, he did attest to the facts the efforts of the Lagos state Government on Works and infrastructures in the state, while he spoke about other awardees with great impacts to the national development most especially in the built environment.

The 28th edition of the Forum awards had built environment professionals from all fields engineering and allied products manufacturer in attendance, some representatives of awardees like the Vice-President of Dangote Group; Engr. Devakumar Edwin, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Works & Infrastructure; Engr. Adekunle Olayinka and other representatives of Corporate bodies who were present which included GPFI company, Fincrete Global etc to mention but few.

The representatives of Engr. Edwin Devakumar, Vice President, Dangote Group; in person of Mr. Anthony Okotcha and Mr. Anthony Iyayi did received the professional award of excellence on behalf of him and the representative of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works & Infrastructure; Mr. Adeboye Thomas who received the award and appreciated CED magazine for the recognition accorded to the Special Adviser to the executive governor of Lagos state. Amongst the dignitaries present was the former national chairman of NIEEE Engr. Emmanuel Akinwolere, FNSE, CEO of AKW Engineering Limited; Engr. Olalekan Olabode who was absent but was duly recognized by the host as a renowned professional in the electrical engineering industry with positive impacts.

The event gave room for learning after so many comments and contributions from audience on the theme of the event.

Awards were given to Fincrete Global and GPFI respectively and also a speech from the Manager of Fincrete Global; Mrs. Ayanwenu Abiola who spoke at length on the company’s contributions to the construction industry in Nigeria with emphasizes on their company contribution to the successful building of the biggest refinery in sub-saharan africa and she also appreciated the organisers of the award ceremony for the recognition accorded to Fincrete Global Ltd.
