Schneider Electric has called on industries to adopt sustainable practices in asset management and maintenance.
In a statement, Vice President of Services for Schneider Electric Anglophone Africa, Nnadozie Ogbuehi, emphasised the need for industries to prioritise comprehensive asset maintenance.
He outlined key qualities to look for in an asset management expert, including the expertise of maintenance personnel, quality assurance, onsite response time, remote monitoring capability, and comprehensive onsite inspection.
Ogbuehi stressed the importance of a proactive approach in asset management, stating, “Many customers tend to adopt a reactive approach to managing their assets, which can lead to increased downtime and reduced equipment lifespan.”
He explained that by partnering with an asset management expert, companies can better address challenges related to equipment availability, minimise downtime, and maximise the lifespan of their equipment.
He stated that this proactive stance would enhance operational efficiency and promote sustainability by reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacements.
Highlighting the cost-effectiveness of Schneider Electric’s asset management solutions, Ogbuehi said, “Our approach is designed to be both cost-effective and tailored to meet specific capacity requirements across a range of industries, including FMCGs, oil and gas, cloud services, industrial and manufacturing, and data centres.
“Asset owners can develop pre-planned budgets, ensuring the maintenance of asset quality and driving sustainability by preventing recurring repairs due to asset breakdowns.”
He further elaborated on the crucial components of Schneider Electric’s approach: “Ensuring the expertise of maintenance personnel and providing quality assurance through access to the latest tools and diagnostics are crucial. Our goal is to help our clients achieve a sustainable asset management solution that meets their needs and challenges.”
Ogbuehi also revealed that Schneider Electric’s maintenance services were characterised by highly skilled personnel, quality assurance through advanced vendor tools and diagnostics, timely onsite response, remote monitoring capabilities, and comprehensive onsite inspections.
He concluded, “At Schneider Electric, we are committed to helping our clients achieve sustainable asset management solutions. Our comprehensive maintenance services are designed to meet the unique needs of each industry, ensuring that our clients can operate efficiently and sustainably.
“By adopting our proactive and tailored approach, businesses can not only improve their operational performance but also contribute to a more sustainable future.”
