

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appointed former Vice President (Collaboration and Linkages), Engr. Aliyu Ibrahim Dutsinma, FNSE, as its new Executive Secretary, with the seasoned Engineer officially assuming duty at the Society’s National Engineering Centre (NEC), Abuja, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. His resumption marks the beginning of a new administrative phase for the Society as it intensifies the implementation of its Resetting Agenda.
Welcoming the new Executive Secretary on behalf of the Council and members of the Society, the President of NSE, Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, F.ASCE, FAEng, MFR, described Engr. Dutsinma as a familiar figure within the organisation whose wealth of experience would strengthen the administration of the Society.
Engr.Rabiu urged him to provide effective leadership for the National Secretariat through diligent implementation of the Society’s policies and programmes aimed at achieving the objectives of the Resetting Agenda. He expressed confidence in Engr. Dutsinma’s ability to deliver on his mandate and wished him a successful tenure.
Responding, Engr. Dutsinma expressed appreciation to the President and the Council for the confidence reposed in him, describing his appointment as an opportunity to serve the engineering profession in a different capacity. He pledged to work closely with the President, Council and staff of the Secretariat to ensure efficient service delivery and the successful implementation of the Society’s programmes.
Earlier, the immediate past Acting Executive Secretary and Director of Corporate Services, Abdulkadir A. Aliyu, FNIM, formally received Engr. Dutsinma at a brief handover ceremony attended by members of the management team.
Aliyu presented comprehensive handover notes covering all Departments and Units of the National Secretariat. The documents outline ongoing activities, operational status, key achievements, pending assignments and priority areas requiring immediate attention to ensure a seamless transition and the continued efficient administration of the Society.
