Investor confidence in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery Initial Public Offering (IPO) has continued to strengthen following projections that Dangote Group is on course to generate approximately $36 billion in revenue in 2026.
The positive sentiment was fueled by disclosures from the Group’s chief strategy officer, Aliyu Suleiman, who revealed that the Group generated about $17 billion in the first half of 2026 and is on track to double its 2025 revenue of $18 billion.
According to Suleiman, the growth is driven by robust performance across its diversified industrial businesses and ambitious expansion plans across Africa.
The outlook has attracted strong interest from investors who see the refinery as a unique opportunity to participate in one of Africa’s most transformative industrial enterprises.
Speaking after subscribing to the IPO, a Lagos-based institutional investor, Mr. Tunde Adebayo, described the investment as a long-term wealth creation opportunity.
“The projected growth trajectory of the Dangote Group and the refinery’s strategic position in the global energy market gave us strong confidence to invest. The forecast revenue of $36 billion demonstrates the scale of the business and the value creation potential available to shareholders,” he said.
Similarly, Mrs. Amina Bello, a private investor from Abuja, said the refinery represents a rare opportunity to invest in a world-class African enterprise.
“What attracted me is the refinery’s ability to serve both the Nigerian market and export destinations across Africa and beyond. Few businesses on the continent have this level of infrastructure, market reach, and growth prospects. I believe this investment will generate substantial long-term returns,” she said.
For Dr. Samuel Okonkwo, an investment manager and shareholder in Dangote Cement, the refinery’s expansion plans further strengthened his decision to invest.
“The proposed expansion of the refinery’s processing capacity to approximately 1.4 million barrels per day and the planned East African refinery project signal management’s commitment to sustainable growth. These are the kinds of projects that create enduring shareholder value,” Okonkwo noted.
Speaking on the rising interest, the vice president, Oil & Gas, Dangote Industries Limited, Edwin Devakumar, said the response reflects growing recognition of the refinery’s fundamentals.
“The enthusiasm being shown by investors is a reflection of confidence in the refinery’s strong fundamentals, operational efficiency, and long-term growth prospects. The projected revenue outlook demonstrates the scale of value creation that the refinery is expected to deliver,” Devakumar said.
The $20 billion Dangote Petroleum Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, continues to increase production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), diesel, aviation fuel, LPG, and other refined products, supporting domestic supply while serving regional and international markets.
Industry analysts believed the combination of strong earnings projections, continued expansion, and rising demand for refined products has positioned the refinery as one of Africa’s most attractive investment opportunities.
